O&G VCA - Oil & Gas Visual Collaboration Arenas

Awarded: NOK 99,999

Project Manager:

Project Number:

270518

Project Period:

2016 - 2017

Location:

The primary objective of the demonstration project will be building and operating a VCA, making the O&G industry competitive and world-leading in realizing the circular economy. Pilot VCAs enabled by an ECP will be built by commercial tools and knowledge product prototypes. Sector-specific VCAs have great business potentials, integrating value-chains, cutting calendar times, costs and errors, and enabling recycling and reuse. The demonstration project partners will compose teams modelling an extendable use-case, an Active Knowledge Architectures (AKAs), and an ECP. A proposal to build a future Evolutionary VCA for the EU Automotive industry, will be submitted to a H2020 2017 call. More industry sector VCAs will be implemented to enable simple reuse of knowledge products and new platform components. VCAs and enhanced platforms for any sector will start with a core platform supporting teams in modelling, task execution, analyses and visualization, and in building models for project roles and their workspaces. The ECP providers and operator will agree on new business models for services deployed to support design, execution, portfolio management and knowledge elicitation and management. Commitment will be the coordinator of the proposal authoring. Statoil and Aker Solutions will be the main contributors to the demonstrator project proposals. The major results will be project knowledge products, models and architectures for reuse and adaptation across sectors. The size of an O&G demonstrator project will be between 35 and 45 mill. NOK and the timeline will be from 24 to 30 months. The new business models for application solutions and components can be explained as follows: participants will pay for what they use and get paid for contributions used by two or more partners. Knowledge product prototypes and use-case demonstrators have been developed in the EU projects MAPPER, 2005-08, and CoSpaces, 2008 - 10, and in four industrial pilots and master student projects.
