Awarded: NOK 99,999

The 2018 ACM Interaction Design and Children (IDC) Conference, took place from June 19 to 22 in Trondheim, Norway. IDC 2018 is the 17th event in an annual series starting in 2002 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, IDC is the premier venue for research addressing the design, development and use of interactive technologies for and with children. IDC 2018 provided a forum for presentation, exchange and discussion of research and practices related to the transdisciplinary field of interaction design and children. We offered an extensive program including 28 full papers, 15 short papers, 1 panel, 27 work in progress/late breaking, and 16 art installations and demonstrations. The program begins with six full-day workshops, two courses and the doctoral consortium. EPFL, Switzerland): Germane Robots ? Kori Inkpen (Microsoft Research, Redmond, USA): Capturing the Everyday Magic of Play ? Alf Inge Wang (Norwegian University of Science and Technology ? NTNU, Norway): Teaching Children through innovation ? experiences from EduApp4Syria and Kahoot! This year, a total of 96 full papers, 42 notes, 49 work in progress/late breaking and 21 art installations and demonstrations were submitted. The acceptance rate was 29% for full papers keeping with the quality standards from previous years.
