DigiDecom events are organized within the program related to IFE’s designation as an IAEA International Collaborating Centre. DigiDecom has become a preferred choice for people specifically interested in nuclear decommissioning as an area of application, small scale workshops including open discussions and with specific interest in digital transformation.
The event will start with a virtual get-together on Monday, 22 March.
The first day of the workshop (Tuesday, 23 March) will focus on Innovation needs, solutions and initiatives in nuclear decommissioning and will include introductory presentations from organizers (IAEA,NEA,IFE, OECD HTO, VTT, CEA) and invited speakers (JAEA, NND, SNETP and OGTC - UK). The second part of the day will focus on presenting and discussing the results from the “SHARE” EU project.
The second day of the workshop will focus on Innovation needs, solutions and initiatives related to digital transformation of decommissioning and waste management. Presentations will be given on behalf of Norsk nukleær dekommisjonering, the Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, IFE, CATENDA, IAEA, CSK-CEN, WAI, iUS, EDF, the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety, Fortum, BAM. The day will conclude with presenting the results from the PLEIADES EU project followed by a discussion session.
The third day of the workshop will focus on Innovation needs, solutions and initiatives related to digitalisation as well as robotics and remote systems in decommissioning. Presentations will be given on behalf of University of Birmingham, NEA-EGRSS, CREATEC, IFE, University of Florida, Chernobyl NPP, Technical University of Košice. A discussion session will follow focusing on the innovation needs and possible solutions related to robotics applications in decommissioning.
