Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated simulation in which a person can move around and interact with a three-dimensional environment using electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen. This simulated experience is being used for entertainment (such as video games), healthcare (such as medical training) and business (such as virtual meetings).
Yatek a hardware technology start-up that aims to use innovative and research-based technology to improve the health and well-being of the population by solving one of the main remaining challenges in VR: How do you navigate in a potentially endless virtual environment without physically moving out of the room where you are standing? Our first project is to develop a new type of navigation device where the user can move easily and naturally in all directions while using VR. Enabling people to walk naturally within a virtual environment while remaining within the four walls of your room will make it possible to use VR in treatment of social anxiety, where natural walking is an important component.
