Styrket innsATs på innovasjons- og kommersialiseringSområdet ved HØGskulen på vestlandeT (SATS HØGT)

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) strongly emphasises the importance of research-based knowledge and skills to be able to understand and solve societal challenges, and has solid ambitions to further develop and position itself related to research-based innovation and commercialisation of research results. Through the SATS HØGT project, HVL will strengthen its innovation capacity and ensure that more innovative ideas with a potential for commercialisation and societal benefit can be identified, further developed and realised. This main objective will be achieved through targeted efforts to identify innovative ideas, nurturing a culture for innovation, close collaboration with the commercialisation partners of our university, more proposals for externally funded commercialisation projects, and last but not least, through the internal innovation programme of HVL for early-stage innovation ideas. The project duration is from 2023-2024, and will be funded primarily through HVL's own resources, as well as funding from the Norwegian Research Council. HVL is the project leader of SATS HØGT, with Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap/VIS, Valide and Kunnskapsparken Vestland as collaborative partners. By 2025, HVL aims to have increased its innovation activities and positioned itself at a higher level based on the achieved results of the SATS HØGT project.

Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) legger stor vekt på viktigheten av forskingsbasert kunnskap og kompetanse for å forstå og løse samfunnsutfordringer, og har store ambisjoner om å videreutvikle og forsterke arbeidet med forskingsbasert innovasjon og kommersialisering av forskning. Gjennom prosjektet "Styrket innsATs på innovasjons- og kommersialiseringSområdet ved HØGskulen på vestlandeT (SATS HØGT)" skal HVL styrke kapasiteten i sitt innovasjonsarbeid og bidra til at flere innovative ideer med kommersielt og samfunnsnyttig potensial kan identifiseres og realiseres. Dette målet skal nås gjennom målrettet arbeid med idefangst og kulturbygging for innovasjon, tett samarbeid med HVLs partnere rundt kommersialisering av forskning, flere søknader om eksternfinansierte kommersialiseringsprosjekter, og ikke minst gjennom at HVL selv finansierer innovasjonsprosjekter i tidlig fase. Prosjektperioden strekker seg fra 2023-2024, og vil primært finansieres av HVLs egne ressurser, og med midler fra Forskningsrådet. HVL er prosjektleder i SATS HØGT, med Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap/VIS, Valide og Kunnskapsparken Vestland som samarbeidspartnere. I 2025 har høgskolen mål om å ha posisjonert seg på et høyere nivå basert på oppnådde resultater fra SATS HØGT-prosjektet.
