Digital Phonemetest

Awarded: NOK 0.40 mill.

NTNU has developed a prototype of a digital phoneme test (DiFonT) for mapping speech sound disorders. In this qualification project, the objectives were to conduct market research to improve clarity on market size, business models for similar services and identify potential partners, competitors and customers. GDPR issues were also very relevant in this project and one of the work packages dealt with which GDPR considerations were relevant for DiFonT. Speech therapists are identified as the most important end user and in many cases they are also the customer. DiFonT is intended as a “Content Management System” where different tests for mapping speech sound disorders can be integrated. In the project period, we have not found solutions that are in direct competition with DiFonT and the use of paper-based tests and scoring sheets is common practice.
