Nansensenteret: PES-Horisont Europa rammebeviligning for 2023 og 2024.

The Nansen Centre's goal and strategy - as a national environment and climate research institute - has a special responsibility linked to climate and environmental research, innovation and service development. Our vision is to "Pioneering environmental and climate research", and with the ambition to be "A leading European research centre in understanding and predicting changes in the marine environment and climate in the North Atlantic and Arctic". Therefore, the current EU framework program, Horizon Europe, has been and will continue to be essential both for the centre's development and access to new knowledge, as well as an important source of project income. The Nansen center (management group, research coordinators, group leaders and researchers) has therefore mapped the opportunities in Horizon Europe's strategic plan (2021-2024) and the work programs for 2023-24, under all three pillars and cross-cutting initiatives (Mission and Partnership for Oceans and Climate). The EU call for research and knowledge related to the centre's key expertise in high-quality digital (marine and climate) services, (marine) biodiversity and ecosystem management, cleaner and healthier sea and air environments, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, as well as preparation and resilient Europe for new threats resulting from of the (marine) environment and climate change. Furthermore, concrete opportunities to involve Norwegian technology companies, related to climate projects as well as ocean monitoring and warning have been identified. The Nansen center wants to influence future calls for proposals in Horizon Europe. We have also taken the initiative to and will submit a number of project applications to relevant Horizon Europe's work programs for the period 2023 and 2024.

Nedfelt i Nansensenterets formål og nye strategi - som nasjonalt miljø- og klimainstitutt - har vi et spesielt ansvar relatert til klima- og miljøforskning, innovasjon og tjenesteutvikling. Vår visjon er å Pioneering environmental and climate research, og med ambisjon om å være A leading European research centre in understanding and forecasting changes in the marine environment and climate of the North Atlantic and the Arctic. Horisont Europa har vært og vil fortsatt være vesentlig både for senterets utvikling av og tilgang på kompetanse, samt en viktig prosjektinntektskilde, forutsatt norsk Retur-EU finansiering. Nansensenteret (ledergruppe, forskningskoordinatorer, gruppeledere og forskere) har derfor kartlagt mulighetsrommet i Horisont Europas strategiske plan (2021-2024) og arbeidsprogrammene for 2023-24, under alle 3 tre pilarer og tverrgående (Mission og Partnerskap for hav og klima). EU utlyser forskning relatert til Senterets kompetanse innen høykvalitets digitale (marine- og klima-) tjenester, (marin) biodiversitet og økosystem forvaltning, ren og sunnere hav- og luftmiljø, reduksjon og tilpasning til klimaendringer, samt forberede et motstandsdyktig Europa på nye trusler som følge av (hav)miljø og -klimaendringer, samt konkrete muligheter til å involvere norske teknologibedrifter, relatert til klimaprojeksjoner samt havovervåkning og -varsling. PES rammebevilgningen vil også bidra til ytterligere å innarbeide Horisont Europa deltakelse i senterets nye strategi og dets handlingsplan, samt å porsjonere senteret mot nye partnere innen forskning, forvalting og næringsliv. Senterets ledelse, forskere, forskningskoordinatorer, økonomi og administrasjon vil å styrke egen kompetanse om arbeidsprogrammene, søknadsprosessen, økonomistyring og administrasjon i Horisont Europa.
