Beyonder is developing high power cells for industrial applications which require higher power and high cycle life than what commercially available lithium-ion batteries (LiB) can supply. To achieve this, Beyonder has developed a novel, patented pre-lithiation processes that increase the energy and power density of the cell by lowering the electrode potential of the anode. The prelithiation process needs to be further improved to achieve the target cycle life and power density for next generation battery cells produced by Beyonder. Hence, the goal of this project is to i) increased energy density through pre-lithiation, and ii) improve power density and stability through novel electrolytes and additives. This work will be based on previous findings by Beyonder, using facilities at Beyonder for experimental work and analysis.
