Smart teknologi og smarte mennesker - maskinlæring og menneskelæring for nullfeilsproduksjon

Smart5Zerol aims to connect smart people with smart technology to achieve zero-defect manufacturing in two Norwegian wood industry companies. To ensure the survival of the wood industry in a high-cost country like Norway, it is necessary to embrace new digital technologies while concurrently developing and optimizing employees' skills at all levels. This aligns well with the European Commission's vision for Industry 5.0, where new technology is combined with human involvement to promote sustainable development and innovation. Currently, there are no ready-made solutions, either technologically or organizationally, that low-risk companies can acquire and implement to achieve zero-defect production within the framework of Industry 5.0. Smart5Zero is, in this regard, a pioneer in applying Industry 5.0 in the Norwegian wood industry. Through the project, new digital infrastructure and management skills tailored to Industry 5.0 will be developed. This includes the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and "Smart Collaboration" – a new concept for collaboration between humans and machines, including algorithms. This concept aims to preserve autonomy, involvement, and participation of individuals in digitized production processes. The goal of Smart5Zero is to create an environment where humans and machines can learn together to develop more profitable and sustainable production processes and products. This is achieved through optimal utilization of materials, machines, and spaces, increased quality, reduced lead times, and increased flexibility. Smart5Null builds on the established Norwegian tradition of employee involvement and methodically relies on action research and use-case methodology.

En nullvisjon for trevareindustrien innebærer null feil, null sløsing, og null utslipp. Smart5Null realiserer dette ved å koble smarte mennesker med smart teknologi for nullfeilsproduksjon i Industri 5.0. Dersom trevareindustrien skal overleve i et høykostland som Norge må bransjen ta i bruk nye digitale teknologier og samtidig ta i bruk og videreutvikle ansattes kompetanse på alle nivåer. Dette samsvarer godt med EU kommisjonens visjon for Industri 5.0, der ny teknologi tas i bruk i samspill med mennesker for å realisere bærekraftig utvikling og innovasjon. I dag finnes det ingen ferdige løsninger, verken teknologisk eller organisatorisk, som en bedrift med lav risiko kan kjøpe og implementere for å oppnå nullfeilsproduksjon i en Industri 5.0 kontekst. Smart5Null vil være den første anvendelsen av Industri 5.0 i trevareindustrien i Norge. I prosjektet vil vi utvikle ny digital infrastruktur og ledelseskompetanse tilpasset Industri 5.0, kombinert med Kunstig Intelligens (AI) og "Smart Samhandling", et nytt og innovativt konsept for samhandling mellom mennesker og maskiner, inkludert algoritmer, som ivaretar autonomi, involvering og medvirkning av menneskene i digitaliserte produksjonsprosessen. Dette vil også bli en viktig innovasjon internasjonalt. Målet er at mennesker og maskiner skal lære raskere sammen for å utvikle mer lønnsomme og bærekraftige produksjonsprosesser og produkter gjennom økt material, maskin og areal utnyttelse, økt kvalitet, kortere ledetid og økt fleksibilitet som igjen muliggjør graden av kundetilpasning som markedet i økende grad etterspør. Smart5Null bygger dermed på en lang norsk tradisjon for medvirkning av ansatte og baserer seg metodisk på aksjonsforskning og use-case metodikk.
