Next Generation Smart Shipping and Navigation Conference

Applications of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionizing the maritime industry. Such applications are evident in digital transformation in maritime industry, analysis of automatic identification system (AIS) data, optimization of energy efficiency of vessels, and various predictive analytics. The University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) is one of the universities in Norway with a dedicated maritime department. USN is also located at the Oslo fjord maritime cluster with several maritime industry players in proximity. This conference will host scholars and industry players in the Oslo fjord maritime cluster and also be open to international scholars and industry players. The conference will host presentations and discussions on the latest research in big data and AI applications in maritime contexts including marine engineering, navigation, maritime education, and shipping and logistics. This conference will serve as a meeting place of maritime scholars and industry. This will facilitate transfer of latest knowledge of big data and AI application in the maritime context among national and international maritime scholars and industry people. Along with renowned maritime scholars, since industry people from several renowned maritime companies such as Kongsberg and DNV are expected to attend and present at the conference, this conference will advance the state-of-the-art knowledge. The event will be organized as a two day conference scheduled for 08.02 -09.02.2024. The conference program will include 2 keynote speakers and 3 parallel sessions with two presentation tracks in each session (total 6 sessions).
