Support application for the 12th Colour and Visual Computing Symposium 2024 (CVCS 2024)

Awarded: NOK 99,999

The Colour and Visual Computing Symposium 2024 (CVCS 2024) will take place in Gjøvik, Norway, on 5th and 6th of September 2024. This will be the twelfth time that The Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory (Colourlab) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) organizes such an event. This edition of the symposium follows up on the success achieved by the previous runs of the biannual Gjøvik Colour Imaging Symposium (GCIS), from 2003 to 2011, and CVCS 2013, CVCS 2015, CVCS 2018, CVCS 2020, and CVCS 2022. The symposium has attracted a growing number of participants and provided a platform for fruitful discussions and exploration of recent theoretical advances and emerging practical applications of colour and visual information processing. In the last symposium in 2022 130 participants from all over the world attended the event. The CVCS 2024 symposium will contain a rich program of invited keynotes from national and international scientific institutes such as • Professor Ghassan AlRegib, from Georgia Institute of Technology, US who will give a talk on “Visual Exaplanations in AI”. • Professor Theo Gevers, from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands who will give a talk on “Coloring (generative) AI”. • Dr. Sira Ferradans, AI Scientific Director at DXOMARK, France who will give a talk on “Studying user preferences for diverse skin tone portrait quality rendition”. • We will also have a talk on remote sensing and environmental monitoring using different image processing technique. Apart from the keynotes mentioned above we have also invited Dr. Charles Poynton to give a talk on “digital video processing workflows for VFX/CGI and film production”. Additionally, regular talks will be given on a wide variety of colour imaging and visual computing topics given by young researchers and well-known international experts in the field.
