LTP OBJECTIVES

Public sector renewal and better public services

This long-term priority under the LTP objective ‘Tackling major societal challenges’ aims to contribute to the necessary reorganisation of the public sector in terms of health, welfare, education and governance and service development. The target area ‘Health, prevention and treatment’ aims to enhance research about new treatment methods, illness prevention and the development of health and care services, while the target area research-based welfare services concerns living conditions, welfare schemes, children and families and trust in the services. The target area ‘Education and learning’ aims to strengthen research and research-based innovation in the education sector through investment in life-long learning, from kindergarten and school to higher education and adult education. The target area ‘Democracy, governance and administration’ encompasses service development, local democracy, regional development trends and governance systems.
