The SPECK project aims at taking up a position on the high-performance real and virtual circuit market by developing « re-configurable » silicon platforms introducing logic, analog and mixed functions with high density implementation.
Against this backg round, the project has the following aims:
o Propose a family of silicon platforms enabling integration on the same chip of high performances analog functions, microcontroller, (RAM, ROM…) etc.
o Develop the first member of this family that will target industrial and consumer applications including analog functions for voice, audio, video
o Encourage access, for electronic product designers, to high-performance customisable integrated circuits at development costs that are far lower than those of speci fic circuits
o Promote the reconfigurable virtual components, basis blocks of the platform: embedded memories, DAC and ADC, microcontrollers…
o Increase productivity and design reliability of mixed signal SoCs
o Push the performance of “repetitive” ce lls like memory point by seeking to link manufacturing process simulators and design simulators
