Physics of Oil Recovery

Awarded: NOK 6.2 mill.

Under this very broad heading, we present in the following three projects where we propose to use our expertise in the physics of soft and complex matter on urgent problems faced by the oil industry in their efforts to increase the productivity of existin g and new reservoirs. The three principal researchers are all members of the research group Complex (www.phys.ntnu.no/CPX) which is a national coordinated research team at three institutions: University of Oslo, NTNU and IFE - Institute for Energy Techn ology consisting of experimental and theoretical physicists. The project will be a collaboration project with geophysicists at ENSP Paris. All of the principal investigators have extensive experience in working closely with people in the oil indus try.
