Selection for improved heals in fish and shrimps

A proposal within genetics, breeding and health in aquaculture. based on earlier and ongoing project collaboration between AKVFORSK and the reserach institutes CIFA/CIBA will have main focus on the key areas : 1.Selecting for disease resistance in rohu ca rp based on earlier collaboration project. 2.Improved resistance against White spot syndrome virus in shrimp based on on-going collaboration project. 3.Use of Lysozymes as alternative ways of combating the attacks of parasites like salmon louse and import ant Argulus spp in carp. 4.Non-specific immune parameters as indicatiors of disease resitance 5.Regulations and advices connected to protection and ownership of genetic material and genetically improved fish stocks A Norwegian partner will go to India and discuss ideas and approaches. Agreements will be established. The partners will then work out a project proposal within 18th of April.
