Prof. Peter J. Dillon is one of the world's leading limnologists. He is a specialist on the effects of pollution and climate change on freshwater ecosystems. He has conducted top research in eutrophication, acid deposition, micro-pollutants (especially me rcury), and climate change (see CV for details). He wishes to visit the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) as a guest scientist for two months in spring 2009. The purpose of the visit is to conduct synthe-sis of joint research results, prepare these for publication, and work on new joint research pro-posals. The visit will be part of his sabbatical leave during the academic year 2008-9. Here we seek NOK 100 000 to support his visit (standard rates of the Research Council). All the funds will go to Dr. Dillon.
