VERDE - VERification-oriented & component-based model Driven Engineering for real-time embedded systems

Awarded: NOK 17.1 mill.

There is a Norwegian consortium consisiting of WesternGeco, ABB, Finale, Devotek, SINTEF og Simula Research Laboratory. WesternGeco is project owner. There is also an international consortium led by Thales consisiting of more than 20 partners from four c ountries. Partners in the international VERDE project are major industrial enterprises, research institutions, and SMEs including tool vendors. The VERDE project will develop novel automated testing technology that will help to improve system dependabili ty while reducing the time and effort required for testing. Based on industrial requirements from real cases we will validate the novel techniques and the tool prototypes in industrial cases. In order to quantify the gains achieved by applying VERDE techn ology, the project will perform cost-effectiveness analysis through empirical studies. A result from the project will be prototype tools released under an open source license. The Norwegian comapnies will use the project results to reduce their testing costs and improve their products; and thereby improve the competitive position of the companies.
