Nominalizations: explorations at the syntax-lexicon and syntax-semantics interfaces

This project proposes to bring together and continue emergent research on nominalizations in Germany and in Norway. It aims at integrating a fine-grained cross-linguistic data description with new theoretical findings in the understanding of nominalizatio ns. It will be used to establish a collaboration network of young researchers between Stuttgart within the Collaborative Research Center 732 (SFB 732 Incremental Specification in Context) and IS and the Center of Excellence in Theoretical Linguistics (CAS TL) in Tromsø. This collaboration will be of great benefit for the research on nominalizations in Europe and will also open the way to new cooperation between the University of Tromsø and other prominent research centers.This project is complemented by a simultaneous application aimed at strengthening the research collaboration on the same topic between Tromsø and the Universities Paris 8 and Lille 3, with which Stuttgart also has an ongoing research cooperation.
