Towards ``Explicit Modelling in DCE-MRI''

Awarded: NOK 25,597

The Norwegian (Bergen) and German (Lübeck) partners intend to establish a joint collaboration project aimed at a computational model of kidney function using dynamic-enhanced magnetic resonance with possible future application in clinical practice. With the present proposal, we intend to apply for travel founds to establish and facilitate the planning of the scientific proposal. The purpose of the planned scientific visits will be to: i) identify the common clinical problem statement, ii) identify th e mathematical model and methods, iii) identify an evaluation method to assess the whole process, thereby reducing clinical risks for patients with kidney disease, kidney donors, and transplantation follow-up patients. We will exploit at full the travel scholarships by organizing a short summer school/workshop aimed at educating master/PhD students in mathematics and image computing to take place in early summer 2012 in Bergen (N).
