Museers viten, museumsviten - Museologisk satsning ved universitetsmuseene - Vegen videre

MusVit is a national initiative with the objective of cre ating arenas and networks for gathering current museological research competence at all of the university museums and other relevant environments, particularly the university environments with responsibility for museology instruction. The project is a collaboration between Tromsø University Museum and the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, NTNU and is supported by the Research Council of Norway. The network has received grants for two periods, first from 2010-2012, and followed by the period 2012- 2014. In addition to Tromsø University Museum and the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, the University Museum of Bergen (University of Bergen), Museum of Archaeology (University of Stavanger), and Museum of Cultural History (University of Oslo) are also members of the network. The purpose of the network is to explore and develop the museum discipline, both theoretically and in practical terms. The network meetings are organized as workshops with different themes, and the university museums take turns hosting the workshops. Themes that have been treated to date include research communication, dissemination of the scientific collections, museum expertise, materiality and materialization, and dialog-based dissemination. The workshops function as inter institutional arenas for generating research networks where reflection and academic development are the short-term goals.

Prosjektet "Museers viten, museumsviten - Museologisk forskningssatsning ved universitetsmuseene" er en del av NFRs strategiske satsning på universitetsmuseene. Satsingen har hatt som formål å styrke forskningssamarbeid og kompetanseoppbygging innenfor pr ioriterte fagområder ved museene, og museologi er et slikt satsingsområde. Tromsø Museum Universitetsmuseet og NTNU Vitenskapsmuseet har vært motor i denne satsningen, og alle universitetsmuseene har bidratt på nettverksmøtene. Formålet har vært å utforsk e og utvikle museumsfaget, både teoretisk og praktisk, og erfaringene fra arbeidet i perioden 2009-2010 er gode. Med denne søknaden ønsker vi en videreføring av prosjektet. Målene i 2014 er flere. Vi ønsker å utvikle museologi som fagfelt og som perspekti v for universitetsmuseenes arbeid. Alle nettverkssamlingene som vi vil arrangere vil også ha et sentralt fokus på rekruttering gjennom tilrettelegging for stipendiater både ved og utenfor universitetsmuseene. Dette ser vi som forutsetning for å nå målene om forskningssamarbeid innen prosjektperioden. I tillegg til nasjonale samlinger vil vi også avholde en internasjonal konferanse i museologi. Denne avholdes allerede i 2012 for å inspirere og styrke denne norske museologiutviklingen som NFR-satsingen gir anledning til.
