SET2: Integration of Norwegian Geothermal Research into European Union Research Programs

The Norwegian Center of Geothermal Energy Research was established February 2 2009. The center's goal is to plan and coordinate research and development on geothermal energy in Norway, as well as positioning Norwegian expertise internationally. The partne rs have agreed to work through the center for good conditions for research and innovation in geothermal energy in Norway, based on, amongst others, strong expertise from the petroleum industry. CGER anticipates to influence and coordinate the Norwegian research directions on geothermal energy as well as to incorporate with strategic decision making processes within the EU. Through participation in the Geothermal Panel of the Renewable Heating and Cooling - European Technology Platform (RHC-ETP) and Euro pean Energy Researh Allicance (EERA) Joint Programme on Geothermal Energy (JPGE), CGER will further address these issues. The cooperation and coordination of the Norwegian delegates in RHC-ETP and EERA-JPGE will be facilitated through national meetings arranged by CGER and communicated to all partners.
