Exchange Semester at the University of Bergen, Master of Public Administration and Organization Theory

As part of my master's degree in Public Policy, a stay at a foreign university is an important widening to my studies at the Hertie School of Governance. For my further studies and my own scientific work a semester in Bergen would provide me with new inpu ts. Especially the combination of administrative science and organization theory within the Master Programme in Administration and Organization Theory at the University of Bergen offers a great opportunity to combine my skills in public policy analysis wi th the perspectives of public organizational studies. Moreover, it is also possible to learn how the university system and my field of studies are taught and studied in another country which will be very interesting and rewarding. During my Bachelor studi es at the University of Potsdam, I focused particularly on the areas of public administration and organization. Actually, in my Master studies of Public Policy, I take a particular interest in administration and organization and as well as in public manag ement, with a focus on social policy. The University of Bergen and the Department of Administration and Organization Theory would therefore fit perfectly to deepen and to broaden my knowledge in this field. I noticed also positively the focus on methodolo gical training within the Master Programme. I consider this emphasis on methodological questions and design as very attractive and could benefit from this during a Semester abroad in Bergen. In summary, a semester abroad in Bergen would be a great opport unity promoting me on my way to the master's degree and provide me with more skills and knowledge to successfully finish my studies.
