-On the basis of cultivation trials carried out by Norwegian Matbygg AS in the 2012 season, it was at the forefront of the growing season in 2013 selected three naked barley variants that have been cultivated in a total of 164 plots in 4 experimental fields in Østfold. This year's effort was mainly aimed at cultivation technical measures and fertilization strategy, with regard to crop level, technical problems with lodged barley, and orther quality. Issues. The growing season in 2013 has posed major agronomic challenges due to climatic conditions. It was an unusually late spring work, and the first seed was sown on 18 and 19 May, one month later than what is normal. The first seed that was sown got a difficult start of growth due to low temperatures and heavy rainfall. It turns out, however, that several of the variant may be appropriate to use in further cultivation. Analyses of srouting activity and fungi control of the harvest have yielded good response. There was low level of fungal attack and good germination, so that pickling seed with plant diseases is not required. The quality suggested that all the grain satisfies food quality. In this context, there is reason to mention very low DON values and good case numbers. Norwegian Matbygg SA has also carried out a large-scale cultivation experiments with one selected sort of barley, distributed in several farms in Østfold. Considering all the challenges of the growing season in 2013, this trial could be considered successful, and the variant is relevant for further production. Seed and land for this variant are set aside for the growing season 2014. In autumn 2013, in cooperation with Canada and Nofima, we have implemented various small-scale / pilot projects in the fractionation of some selected variants from this year's harvest. The analyzes have yielded good results, and can be compared to the results obtained from the Canadian cultivars. On the basis of these results, large scale testing has been planned for first half of 2014. Matbygg-variants we have chosen to grow further, we have named Duga. In 2014 there were 12 farmers who cultivated Duga barley. The cultivars are doing seemingly well in Norwegian climate, and Duga barley emerges as robust and resistant to current plant diseases. Matbygget is suitable for all kinds of cooking and has a mild, smooth taste that is easy to like. In autumn 2014 we launched together with Coop 7 different products based on Duga barley under product series "Gold Barley" - a separate product line developed by Coop and Norwegian Matbygg / Duga jointly. First half 2014 we carried out large-scale testing, and on this basis, a specially designed mill construction was put in order. The mill was delivered in November 2014 and was assembled in February 2015. The mill is not yet fully developed, and it still takes large scale tesing of the mill to achieve the defined beta glucan%. The goal is that we both are going to make different milling fractions and producing flour in the mill. In February 2015, we launched 3 more products in the Gold Barley Series of Coop / Duga. The series now consists of as many as 11 different products, all based on Duga barley, and can be bought in all Coop stores throughout the country. It was established experimental fields in the same areas in 2015. The number of farmers who now cultivates Duga Barley increased from 12 to as many as 57 , spread throughout the Østfold and parts of Akershus. The growing season in 2015 was very good for Duga naked barley, with record crops. The quality of grain is also generally good, but except for some weather damage on what was harvested late and some dammage to the barley from insects was observed. We see that the barley variants consistently perform well throughout Østfold and Akershus, and can withstand the Norwegian climate well. Break / test run of the mill has continued throughout the summer and fall of 2015. We are experiencing some difficulty achieving the desired amount of beta glucan in the process of the crop of 2015. What is the cause is not entirely mapped out yet, so optimization will go forward even if the project now is the end. In February 2016 the company launched a new product in Gold Building Series, and work with two new products to be launched in September 2016. In total, the Gold Building product series in offered in 1150 stores throughout the country
