The Project purpose is to design and develop a steering system with the task to position floating Devices used in marine operations, such as seismic survays, where towed floating systems are used for seismic streamers and gun arrays. The main purpose witrh seismic surveys is examine geological structures under the seabed With the highest possible accuracy and repeatability. By an accurate positioning of for instance the gun arrays in a sesimic towed system, the survay datas accuracy will be increased, especially With repeated surveys (4D), where its is desirable to position the Source on the exact posision used on previous surveys. The Projects main task is to desig, develop, test and verify a system as described above. The 1st generation of the system is designed, realized and tested full scale in a fjordtest. The system Works according to the intended basic principes. In order to verify design and functionallity in a real seismic operation, we have to establish a partnership agreement With a seismic survey Company.
