The autonomous inflow control valve can shut of locally and autonomously unwanted gas and water produstion. The key element in the technology is a laminar flow element. This project has focused on the flow element. The outcome of the project is an impoved flow element design.
EXTRACT will create an innovative, reversible, Autonomous Inflow Control Valve (AICV) to selectively block unwanted phases of water and gas and improve oil reservoir recovery rates by up to 25%. The research optimises performance of the AICV for a range o f oil viscosities, densities and flow rates.
