Utvikling av målrettet kreftterapi med monoklonalt antistoff

Oncoinvent AS is an R&D intensive company that develops novel product candidates for cancer therapy. The BIA project will cover activities including pre-clinical evaluation and documentation of the therapeutic compounds developed by Oncoinvent AS, the OI-candidates. The activities in the start-up of the BIA project have mainly been optimization, production and documentation of the OI-candidates. Test compounds constructed on the basis of radioisotopes, nano- and microparticles and antibodies are evaluated by in vitro studies and in animal models of human cancer. The R&D activity of this project has resulted in development of Radspherin, an alpha-emitting microparticle for regional treatment of cancer metastasis. Radspherin has been selected as the company's lead product candidate for clinical trial development.

Prosjektets formål er utvikling av selskapets produktkandidater; OI-antistoffene, for målrettet behandling av blant annet osteosarkom og melanom. Ved hjelp av rekombinant teknologi og konjugering til radioisotoper utvikles både ImmunTerapeutisk (IT) og Ra dioImmunKonjugat (RIK) kandidat på basis av OI-antistoffene. Selskapet ønsker i løpet av en tre-årig periode å utføre «lead optimization» gjennom in vitro og in vivo prekliniske studier for å bygge opp dokumentasjonspakke (IND/IMPD) rundt de mest effekt ive produktkandidatene; «lead compounds». Oncoinvnts målsetning er, i samarbeid med spesialist-aktører i feltet, å sikre en fleksibel og effektiv produktutvikling av nye terapeutiske kandidater for behandling av flere kreftformer hvor de pr i dag finnes behov for målrettet kreftbehandlings-tilbud.
