NANO2021-Nanoteknologi og nye materiale

Arrangement of the 6th International Symposium on Carbon for Catalysis

Awarded: NOK 99,999

Carbon nanomaterials have a unique place in nanoscience and technology owing to their exceptional electrical, thermal, chemical and mechanical properties and have found application in areas diverse as catalysis, energy storage and conversion and etc.. Th e 6th International Symposium on Carbon for Catalysis (Catbocat VI, http://www.ntnu.edu/carbocat6), which will be held at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway, June 22-25, 2014, is devoted to both fundamentals and practical ap plications of carbon materials, from conventional activated carbon, graphite to carbon nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes or nanofibers, graphene, 3D meso- and microrporous carbon for catalysis. Carbon nanomaterials possess unique size-/surface-depend ent (e.g., morphological, electrical, optical, and mechanical) properties useful for enhancing the energy-conversion and storage performances. Emerging applications of new carbon nanomaterials in new energy technologies, such as (electro)photocatalysis, f uel cells, energy storage, will be one of topics in the symposium. It focusses on sharing the leading-edge developments across disciplinary borders and connecting the international carbon nanomaterials community. The conference will cover the following t opics: 1. Synthesis of carbon nanomaterials 2. Characterization and modeling 3. Carbon in catalytic reactions 4. Carbon for new energy technologies 5. New trends in carbon technologies for adsorption and environmental protection Support to the arrang ement of Carbocat VI will promote Norwegian international visibility, knowledge exchange and the dissemination of results on nanomaterials forenergy technologies and environment and climate change, which are the priority areas in Nano2021.
