Awarded: NOK 17,699

The issue of the book manuscript is 'naturalness'. The manuscript represents an attempt understand this concept and to show why naturalness has been abandoned in modern academic discourse and moreover how this connects to certain ontological assumptions a bout nature. Questions within environmental ethics, within the discourse taking place between science, technology and ethics and within the relationship between man and nature in general are central in the book manuscript. An underlying goal is to show t hat our actions towards nature may be guided by an understanding that is neither technical nor ethical. A leeway called naturalness. We think that the issue of the book will become increasingly important as our motivations and capacities to change and re arrange nature surges more and more rapidly. See also Synopsis.
