The market for wireless connectivity in-between consumer electronics is entirely based on WiFi. A group of companies under the lead of IBSENtelecom will disrupt this market with the introduction of LiFi (Light Fidelity): high-speed wireless data transmiss ion based on laser-supported infrared signals. The group comprises companies representing the entire value chain of the product. Contacts to future customers are established already. We will build up production in Europe to serve a worldwide multi-billion -unit market. LiFi technology is faster, consumes less energy, is more secure and causes no interference issues or health threats, compared to WiFi. Planned is the LiFi-router, a multi-connectivity device with the following properties: - Effective data rate: 1 Gbps (2Gbps optionally) - Range: 10m to 20m - Point-2-multipoint - Connectivity: Ethernet, USB3.0 + HDMI - Power supply: via data connection - Power consumption: below ½ W Wireless data transmission is based on optical line-of-sight connectivity of at least two devices, which can be connected via cable to Internet, server, PC or any other modern electronic device. A LiFi-router can be installed as network, but also put as dongle on the table. LiFi is an exciting novelty for users. Markets: - Ho me & office networks - IT network infra structures in buildings - Hospitals - Industrial applications - Schools (Council of EU recommended to replace WiFi) - Home entertainment market The product is developed to prototype stage. Phase 1 will show how pil ot production is executed, production planned, distribution organised and marketing conducted. It also includes a roadmap to financially pull through the project to mass production. Besides political, environmental and societal reason, we believe it is vital to keep production within the EU, identifying our technology with European culture, supporting the economic growth in Europe, and thus creating a higher product identification of European consumers.
