The project target is to development new materials with new functionalities, sensations and intangible factors for creative industry. This will represent a huge opportunity of environmental footprint reduction in an economic scenario usually dominated by utilitarian drivers and economic factors. The use of recycled polymers will drastically reduce consumption of resources (from nature, from technosphere, energy, etc.), environmental emissions (e.g. greenhouse gasses emissions) and waste production for new components. GREEN SENSES project, inspired by the systems and elements of nature, will modify the bulk and surfaces of recycled polymers to provide them with new functionalities and with capacity for evoking sensations.
The main objective of the GREEN SENSES project is to use design-driven innovation strategies to develop new sustainable multifunctional materials and final products for furniture, automotive and textile sectors, important creative industrial sectors linked to manufacturing, providing th e customer with functional solutions and other intangible factors, such as pleasant and wellbeing sensations. In GREEN SENSES designers, end-users, technological staff and main chain stakeholders will work together to provide products for satisfying incre asing customer expectations.
To achieve the main objectives, here are the differents specific objectives:
Development of 4 new multifunctional additives
Optimization of alternatives technologies for evoking targeted sensations
Development of 4 new maste rbatches
Demonstration of the technologies for the surface and bulk modification of real end-products
Validation of the technologies by general public
LCA and LCC, patents and marketing strategies of the validated materials
Improving current recycled mate rials with new functionalities. Encourage the use
