Piql has developed a new solution to handle the enormous growth of digital data in the world. The scoop of this PES project is to: Define the main goals of the project Develop a memorandum of understanding Prepare and deliver an application to Horizon 2020 under the program SME Instrument ICT 37. Piql is a small innovative SME, but our target is to change the way the world is preserving their most valuable data. Piql needs support for validation and demonstration of our service in real world conditions and for deployment and market uptake. It is challenging since: - The technology and the application is new - The managed service we propose is new - The business model we propose is New Piql Preservation Services (PPS) - Migration free long term preservation and storage of digital data. The PPS constitutes a turnkey closed loop workflow including all equipment and processes needed to write data onto and read data off a photosensitive optical recording medium. The longevity properties are typically up to 500 years. This service is targeted to industries and organization that has a need for long term preservation of their data. The market for Piql Preservation Services is truly global, - and in every little corner of the world there is a need for secure and cost efficient long term preservation, thus Piql will establish a global network of Piql Partners that shall provide the Preservation Services to Data Owners. Project Objectives An application shall be written where the outcome is a feasibility study verifying the technological/practical as well as economic viability of the PPS. Piql's solution is innovative and with considerable novelty to all the sectors that have a need for long term preservation. This means that we are presenting: new products, processes, services and technologies. The Piql business model is to provide a managed service by offering a long term and secure preservation/storage service for digital data with or through Partners globally.
