Learning to Teach Lesson Study in Initial Teacher Education

The aim of my visit to UC Berkeley is to work more extensively with analyses of already retived data, exploring how the variations in the implementation models may affect professional learning in the different cultures. Comparing the processes through which a practice is implemented in different cultures can yield new insights and understanding of how different goals and models work to support learning to teach and to advance learning in schools. As a visiting researcher I am also invited to join in on an ongoing research project that started at UC Berkeley August 2014. This research project is called Moral Education and Lesson Study and tries out Lesson Study as a way to work with pupils moral reasoning in middle school classrooms.
