SET8 - Participation in European Technology Platform Smartgrids Working group 1 - Network Operations and Assets

The project will contain work activities covering two main dimensions: - Active participation in EPT SG WG 1 - Dissemination of information and coordination with relevant Norwegian entities. These two dimensions are described in the following: Participation in ETP SG WG 1: The scope of WG 1 is to actively participate to develop the materials and equipment of electrical networks to optimally meet the operational needs of the grids to contribute to a smooth transition to sustainable technologies. In parallel the WG will contribute to develop the operational capabilities of electrical networks to optimally meet the needs of the grids as they evolve to facilitate the penetration of renewable technologies. The working group's focus is on the strategic agenda set out by the ETP SG, and to analyze the work done through the projects in progress, identify gaps in asset development and grid operations suggest next steps to meet the required functionalities through the optimal use of resources. National information and coordination work: Dissemination of information from the work of WG 1 and coordination with relevant Norwegian actors is the other main type of activity. This will mainly be done in cooperation with the Norwegian Smart grids centre (NSGC) , and through dialogue with the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. Energi21) via electronic media and meetings. Existing and already functioning groups will be used for the purpose of having Norwegian "shadow groups" with relevant representatives to ensure efficient communication. These groups are: - The R&D task force for distribution companies of NSGC - The demonstration board of NSGC - The board of NSGC
