Effects of climate warming on tundra plant communities and insect herbivory at contrasting bioclimatic conditions, RiS ID 10030

Awarded: NOK 31,999

Previous studies have shown that tundra vegetation is changing in response to climate warming, but the responses may vary between localities and regions. There is increasing evidence for herbivory as an important factor in modulating vegetation responses to climate change. The aim of this project is to study the effect of climate warming on tundra plant communities, including insect herbivore intensity, and the different response between the low Arctic (Iceland) and high Arctic (Svalbard).
