FP7-People-2011 IAPP Creep of Geomaterials Grant agreement: 286397. Secondments from NGI

Awarded: NOK 0.15 mill.

The projects overall S&T objectives is to formulate, implement, and validate a set of novel time dependent material (creep) models for clay, peat, sand, and frozen soil, which allow for enhanced creep predictions. As model formulation prerequisites experimental quantification of creep behaviour in the respective materials, the latter is an overall S&T objective as well. The project is implemented via secondments and recruitment of 156 researcher months in total (114 months of secondment and 42 months of recruitment). So far NGI has received three researchers from China (for 22 months together), two researchers from Chalmers for 12 months togehter, sent two researchers on secondments to Chalmers in Sweden and NTNU in Trondheim (for 6 months together), and starting form 1 September NGI will send one researcher to Chalmers for 3 months secondment.
