Monitoring daily activity and parental food provisioning in the Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica) by the use of digital cameras

Awarded: NOK 40,914

The main goal is to collect data on parental food provisioning in the Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica) by the use of camera technology. It is a non-invasive method consisting of small digital camera-traps placed at the cavities used by nesting Atlantic puffins. With pilot study in 2015 it showed that this method was successful for monitoring food provisioning and activity around the clock for extended periods.
