SET9: Participation in IEAs Hydrogen Implementing Agreement (HIA) Task 38

Alternative title: Deltagelse i HIA Task 38

Awarded: NOK 74,999

Through the participation in IEA's Hydrogen Implementing Agreement (HIA) Task 38 on Power to Hydrogen and Hydrogen to applications, IFE got access to an international network with high competence in hydrogen energy systems. The knowledge and experience gained through this network form a basis for improvement of Norwegian energy system models and create synergies between modelling of small scale systems and our national energy system models.

The general objective of HIA task 38 is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the various economic pathways for Power to Hydrogen and hydrogen to applications according to the local situation and a comprehensive assessment of existing legal framework. The task will include both the business model evaluation and analysis of the benefits in terms of macro-economic impacts through a systemic approach. A specific objective will be to deliver some general guidelines and recommendations to both business developers and policy makers to enhance hydrogen technologies deployment on energy markets. An additional objective will be to develop Hydrogen visibility as a key energy carrier for a sustainable and smart energy system. The goals are to be able to provide tools, guidelines to inform and facilitate decisions processes (investment decisions, policy measures) and to propose recommendations to accelerate hydrogen deployment both for business developers and policy makers.
