The picoeukaryote Micromonas pusilla is a key phototroph in Arctic picoplankton, being one of the earliest to commence growth after the polar night period. In this project qPCR of cDNA (from RNA) will be used to quantify the cell abundances (and population growth) in the transition from polar night to Arctic spring.
