DDReam is a multi-disciplinary academic research program focusing on molecular, cellular and systems biology aspects of DNA stability and repair, which aims to deepen the understanding of the pathological consequences in active population, such as cancer, cell degeneration or infertility.
Members of this network are experts in cutting edge technologies, including automated genetic screens, 4D-microscopy, next generation sequencing, analytical proteomics and bioinformatics tool generation. Our approach will provide a molecular framework into which novel findings, ranging from signalling mechanisms of DNA damage and cancer to age-related degenerative diseases, can be integrated. Apart from increasing our understanding of basic biology, this project also has clinical relevance as we aim to identify new therapeutic targets that may improve the efficiency of treatments for cancer.
The various expertise and techniques brought together within this Network provide sufficient intellectual and technological synergy to successfully tackle complex scientific subjects and provide an excellent training platform for nine talented and motivated early stage researchers.
