SET 11: Styrket EU-posisjon for norske energiforskningsmiljø lederverv i EERA e3s og etablering av nasjonal Mirror Group.

Awarded: NOK 0.71 mill.

The project?s main goal was to contribute to an increased participation from Norwegian researchers in H2020 and subsequent Programmes. The project should contribute to 1) the establishment of strong consortia targeting European collaborative calls, as well as contribute to 2) achieving synergies from already financed research. Furthermore, the project had the goal of 3) increasing the impact of Norwegian research environments at EU level, by using EERA as platform to participate in work related to the SET-Plan and other strategic processes. The project has contributed to the establishment of several EU funded projects in which the consortia were ?born? from EERA initiatives There have been clear synergies with FME NTRANS and FME CenSES, both in terms of H2020 projects providing benefit to our research groups and Norwegian partners, as well as research results in the FME?s and related projects being crucial to the development of European proposals and projects. Our researchers have participated in strategic initiatives from the EERA Secretariat, for example, an initiative to establish a Clean Energy Transition think-tank that can serve as advisor to the EU and to broaden EERA?s expertise to develop a CET strategy; in preparation of a Clean Energy Transition white paper, with input to the Clean Energy Transition partnership and with the establishment of EFECT (European Forum for Energy and Climate Transition), an initiative started by NTNU, for which we were able to recruit EERA and a number of European partners

This project have allowed NTNU and partners to be in a stronger position to carry out state-of-the art research within the fields of Clean Energy Transition, Just Transition and Bioenergy (and its role in the energy system of the future). For NTNU and Norway, we would like to highlight the involvement in the development of input papers for the design of the Clean Energy Transition Partnership as well as involvement in EERA strategic processes on Clean Energy Transition. Another impact is the increase in European research cooperation in EU projects we were able to participate in.
