Nordic Polymer Days is a conference that circulates among the Nordic countries, and in its 56th year in 2019 will be held in Trondheim from June 5th-7th. The conference will have a combination of unified and parallel sessions, to increase the number of presented topics as well as increase opportunities for Ph.D. & masters students to present their research work. Gender balance is promoted during selection of keynote, plenary, and oral presentations, in order to facilitate professional development of females to leadership positions in science. The conference is planned for 106 participants.
The scientific profile of the conference is to contribute to development of knowledge and technology to meet challenges related to renewable energy, sustainability, climate, environment, health and medicine, using polymers. Specific sessions are the following:
1. Scattering methods for characterization of polymers & polymer materials
2. Polymer microscopy
3. Polymers for biomedical applications
4. Polymer theory and modelling
5. Polymer composites
6. Environmental aspects of polymers
8. Functional polymers
The conference will contribute strongly to dissemination of research results through oral and poster presentations, instrumentation demonstrations and formal & informal discussions of research and scientific theories. An essential part of the conference will be contributions from instrumentation vendors, who hold key technical knowledge and advice for performing high quality research related to polymers. Representatives from instrument companies will be invited to hold active instrument stands, where the instruments will be demonstrated in real time using real polymer samples, and also to hold technical lectures regarding utilization and recent technological developments related to their instrument methods.
A compendium of abstracts will be distributed, and approved presentation slides will be uploaded to the conference website for later usage by participants.
