ThermalCoating SMEINST-2 will prototype, pilot and commercialise our disruptive and innovative ThermaSiC powder for creating SIC coating with potential users, thermal sprayer shops, to prepare for commercial roll-out and demonstrate the performance of the coatings. ThermalCoatings will bring our disruptive technology to industrial readiness, representing a significant step beyond the current state-of-the-art with a major commercial potential that will aid us in attaining a position as market and technology leader in the €1.58 billion market for thermal spray powders and results in a very positive environmental impact and job growth in Europe. ThermalCoating technology meets the end user need for a high-performance low-cost coating. The ThermalCoating project builds upon a validated prototype of a new market disruptive and cost-effective high-performance ceramic coating technology that meets the end user need for a high-performance low-cost coating, the majority of our efforts will be focused on maturation, piloting and commercialisation activities: - Technology Maturation: The first activities will focus on optimising the current ThermaSiC powder. - Large-scale piloting and validation: We will validate and demonstrate the benefits of ThermaSiC to its target end users – 1) equipment manufactures, and 2) thermal spraying companies such as Flame Spray. - Market & regulatory monitoring: Continuously perform market analytics covering the world market to determine an optimal set-up, and to perform cost and price sensitivity analysis for optimal positioning for ThermaSiC launch. - Measures to maximise project impact: Update our detailed plan for stakeholder engagement and execute it. - Innovation Management: Implement a detailed innovation management strategy, ensure financial management, implement IP monitoring and protection, achieve and deliver our final and business plan ready for post-project execution.
