Inspection-as-a-Service Using Long-Range Automated UAVs

Awarded: NOK 74,999

Sevendof is a startup in Norway focused on making drones (UAV - Unmanned aerial vehicle) available to help solve important problems. We are developing a platform which offer drones as a complete service, without requiring ownership, training, or presence in the field from the end user. Our platform consists of a network of stations and long-range drones with built-in autonomy. Each mission defined by the user is fulfilled automatically, providing high-quality data to the end user through the cloud. Our first service has been developed in cooperation with pilot customers in the electricity sector, and supports automated power line inspection. In the SME phase 2 proposal the main objective is to further develop our UAV platform, including the necessary software platform for customer interaction, route planning (including pre-flight simulations) and presentation of results from the inspections. This will enable us to extend our customer base and enable internationalisation of our offering. This is aligned with our long-term goal which is to consistently improve the availability and lower the cost of drone services through increased use of our shared drone network. Besides existing pilot customers in the electricity sector, an extension and improvement of our UAV platform will enable us to target segments, including road/rail inspections, geographical mapping, surveillance, and search and rescue.
