Subsea pumps are widely considered the most effective tool to increase recovery from existing oil and gas wells. Increased recovery from existing fields and increased utilization of existing infrastructure using subsea equipment offers large environmental benefits, versus searching for and developing new fields. The challenge with traditional subsea pupming systems is that they are expensive and complex and require several hundred tons of equipment located "topside" on traditional platforms. The goal of this project is to develop and qualify "FASTsubsea X", a unique multiphase pumping system which is simple, "topside-less", "barrier fluid-less" and more autonomous, to extract 10-30% more from oil & gas wells. This will lead to 50% capex reductions, less leaks and less need for platforms and associated equipment. The project has several demanding tasks in the form of developing, building and testing the complete system. The foundation is to take the best from Aker Solutions multiphase technology ("Multibooster") and merge with FSubsea's hermetically sealed, magnetic drive system ("Hydromag").
