The consortium is writing a European Green Deal project proposal targeting topic 10.3, subtopic 2 . The focus of the project and our pilots is on achieving behavioural change among citizens through frugal innovation and active citizen participation.
At the moment, we are selecting pilots that either already practice frugal innovation, or intend to do so with the support of our project, who will develop different products and solutions to make citizens more aware of their personal impact on the environment, and encourage lifestyle changes. With these pilots, we will use frugal innovation as a tool that is ideally suited to achieve this, via two different routes:
(1) engaging citizens in the development of products and services through FI, bottom-up and participatory, with citizens actively contributing to the development itself, thus increasing their commitment and enhancing chances for behaviour change
(2) through the solutions our pilots will develop, which enable citizens to monitor their personal effects on the environment, thus enabling them to reflect on and adapt their behaviour.
