In this collaborative project 3 innovative SMEs (Norgenotech AS from Norway, DFR Systems from Romania, Zen Graphene from Canada) and one Research Organisation (National Institute for Research & Development in Chemistry and Petrochemistry from Romania) will team up to create novel nano-composite plastic material to be used for the free floating biocarrier in the wastewater process treatment based on the moving bed biofilm reactor technology (MBBR). We will also optimise the system for production of the biogenic nanoparticle (reduced bionanographene oxide, bionanoTiO2, bionano MnO2) used in the nanocomposite plastic material, improve MBBR intermittent cleaning technology for the wastewater treatment and build a portable equipment and methodology for the evaluation of the (eco)genotoxicity of the new nanomaterials developed in the project.
