PES-søknad 2021-2022 for EU-aktivitet på VID

VID Specialized University is targeting further development and visibility both nationally and internationally. The board of VID supports VIDs ambitions and plans for becoming a university. An essential part of the path towards university status is increased focus on external financing and internationalisation. This includes increased focus on participation in Horizon Europe, and this will be included in the new strategy for VID. VID has in the recent years chosen to position international migration and health within the EU framework. There has been dedicated a positioning coordinator in both areas. For the coming period and the new EU research framework, VID wants to continue focusing on those two areas. Since the merger in 2016, VID’s researchers have increased their knowledge about the EU. In the coming period, VID will intensify this work and include also other groups of employees to ensure competence in all departments and within all job categories, aiming for better understanding of the EU within the whole institution. For the next two years, VID aims to prioritize the following destination areas: Innovative Research on Social and Economic Transformations; Ensuring access to innovative, sustainable and high-quality health care; Staying healthy, and Living and working in a health-promoting environment.

VID vitenskapelige høgskole er i stadig vekst og har et ønske om å ytterligere posisjonere seg både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Styret i VID gav i mars 2021 entydig støtte til VIDs ambisjoner og planer om å bli et universitet. En vesentlig del av arbeidet mot universitetsstatus er knyttet til ekstern finansiering og internasjonalisering. Et økt fokus på deltakelse i Horisont Europa blant VID-ansatte er sådan sentralt og noe høgskolen vil satse betydelig på fremover, blant annet innenfor rammen av utvikling av ny strategi for hele høgskolen. VID har de siste årene valgt å posisjonere fagområdene internasjonal migrasjon og helse inn mot EU. Begge disse fagområdene har hatt hver sin posisjoneringskoordinator i 10% stilling. Det er for kommende periode og nytt rammeprogram fortsatt disse to fagområdene VID ønsker å profilere og posisjonere. Samfunnsrelevant forskning på disse feltene krever en interdisiplinær og impact-orientert satsning, som vi mener vi er godt rustet til å bidra til. VID har siden fusjon opparbeidet seg mer og mer kunnskap om EU. I kommende periode vil dette arbeidet intensiveres og inkluderes flere grupper ansatte enn tidligere for å sikre kompetanse i ulike avdelinger, ledd og stillingskategorier for bedre forståelse og forankring i hele institusjonen.
