First Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) solution for the maritime and offshore industries

The maritime and offshore industries are facing a strong need for full connectivity onboard and between vessel and land to harvest the full benefits of digitization and Internet-of-Things (IoT) trends. ScanReach has developed a game-changing IoT platform - mesh network - that, for the first time, enables effective wireless communication in confined steel environments, namely vessels, eliminating the need for costly and complex cabling onboard. It provides a game-changing opportunity to improve maritime & offshore operations, enabling safer, smarter, and greener vessels. Our lead application is called ConnectPOB, for real-time tracking of personnel-onboard during emergency situations, improving rescue operations. The main barriers for ScanReach going forward are related to scaling our technology, increasing market awareness, and preparing the company for commercialization. This project will enable ScanReach to 1) scale our platform and integrate the ScanReach Connect concept; 2) conduct demonstrations of our technology in relevant markets; and 3) perform business development activities for full-scale commercialization. The EIC Accelerator will provide a unique opportunity for ScanReach to accelerate our platform scalability and product maturation roadmap through the integration of the ScanReach Connect concept for real-time monitoring of ship parameters – driving ScanReach to full scalability and commercial readiness.
