Climate innOvatioN acTiOns for EUropean Regional reSilience

The CONTOURS project proposes to contribute to this EU agenda, through intervention in 3 main areas: • Promote an innovative, more participative, approach to resilience and adaptation to climate change in 5 demonstrator regions by bringing together existing local and regional strategies, plans and projects into an ambitious experimentation framework (through sandboxing and graphical digital twins) to accelerate regional resilience and to reach the mission objectives. • Foster stakeholder engagement and quadruple helix collaboration on climate change adaptation and stimulate the use of tools, methods and practices to ensure that the demonstrator regions can co-design, co-implement and co-monitor the adaptation measures and solutions together with their key stakeholders and engaged citizens. • Measure the impacts and understand the potential barriers and drivers that allow replication and upscaling of the (most promising) adaptation solutions. The replication will be supported first among five follower regions and as a second step within a wider community of disseminating regions, in total involving 15 regional authorities in the project.
