Posisjonerings- og prosjektetableringsstøtte Horisont Europa 2023 og 2024

Participation in the European research and innovation collaboration in the period up to 2027 is important to Nofima, and our ambition is to further increase participation in the years to come. We want to participate in order to help strengthen the competitiveness of Norwegian aquaculture, fisheries and the food industry through professional development and international cooperation, and to help solve common European societal challenges. In order to achieve our ambitions, it is important to collaborate with the best environments in Europe and we therefore want to maintain a high level of activity within central networks and organisations. Nofima is currently involved in a number of international networks. We work continuously to position ourselves and intervene in the framework programme. We have experienced that this work pays off best when we collaborate with other environments and the industry with which we have a common interest. In the period 2023-2024, Nofima's ambition is to submit 55-65 EU applications, several of which we want to coordinate, in the other applications we want to have a central role as WP/Task leader. Although the coordination work is demanding, we see that holding this role is important for our positioning and professional network, in addition we now have some experience as a coordinator and with our internal EU group we also have the support apparatus needed to undertake this role. It is important for Nofima to reach out with applications and mobilize for good EU strategic work. In order for us to manage this and for it to be financially sound, it is crucial to have solid support schemes, such as the PES funding. The institute also invests considerable resources in this work, far beyond what is covered by PES.

Deltagelse i det europeiske forsknings- og innovasjonssamarbeidet i perioden frem mot 2027 er viktig for Nofima. I dag deltar Nofima i 5 Horisont Europa prosjekter, vår deltakelse i Horisont 2020 var betydelig høyere og vi har som mål å øke antallet Horisont Europa vesentlig i årene som kommer. Vi ønsker å delta for å bidra til å styrke konkurransekraft for norsk akvakultur, fiskeri og matindustri gjennom faglig utvikling og internasjonalt samarbeid, og være med å løse felles Europeiske samfunnsutfordringer. For å nå våre ambisjoner er det viktig å samarbeid med de beste miljøene i Europa og vi ønsker derfor å opprettholde høy aktivitet innenfor sentrale nettverk og organisasjoner. Nofima er i dag med i 22 internasjonale nettverk. Vi jobber kontinuerlig for å posisjonere oss og komme i innspill til rammeprogrammet. Vi har erfart at dette arbeidet gir best uttelling når vi samarbeider med andre miljøer og næringen som vi har felles interesse med. I perioden 2023-2024 har Nofima ambisjon om å sende inn 50-60 EU-søknader, flere av disse skal vi koordinere, i de øvrige søknadene skal vi å inneha en sentral rolle som WP/Task leder. Selv om koordineringsarbeidet er krevende, ser vi at det å inneha denne rollen er viktig for vår posisjonering og faglig nettverk, i tillegg har vi nå en del erfaring som koordinator og med vår interne EU-gruppe har vi også støtteapparatet som trengs for å påta oss denne rollen. Det er viktig for Nofima å nå opp med søknader og mobilisere for godt EU-strategisk arbeid. For at vi skal klare dette og for at det skal være økonomisk forsvarlig er det avgjørende å ha solide støtteordninger, slik som PES-ordningen. Instituttet legger i tillegg ned betydelig ressurser i dette arbeidet, langt utover det som dekkes inn av PES.
